Henry County Humane Society is Henry County Humane Society and Clayton County Humane Society.

Henry County Humane Society is a non-profit volunteer organization. The animals are placed in temporary volunteer foster homes until they can be placed in permanent loving homes. An application must be completed along with vet reverences by potential adopters. Fenced yards are required for large dogs and some smaller active breeds. All of the potential pets are up to date on their shots, dewormed, and are spayed or neutered. All cats and kittens are feline leukemia and feline AIDS negative.

The Henry County Animal Control works closed with the Henry County Humane Society and is affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States. Members of the Henry County Animal Control are dedicated to reduce the numbers of healthy adoptable animals being euthanized at their facility. The shelter now offers pet owners “do-able” solutions to common pet related problems. Interested persons may adopt a pet by coming to our shelter and signing several forms. All animals adopted must be sterilized within 30 days of adoption per state law. Documentation from a vet stating that the animal has not been altered must be provided . A rabies shot certificate is giving to the new pet owner and can be redeemed at some local vets.

Clayton County Humane Society offers humane support to Henry County. This Humane Society operates as a "no-kill" animal rescue facility. Stray, lost, and abandoned animals are kept in a caring environment until permanent placement takes place. While in care the animals are provided with shelter, nutritious food, medical care for illness and injury, preventative vaccinations, and all animals are sterilized prior to adoption. All the animals are vet checked, have all of their shots, are tested for Heartworms, Parvo, Feline Leuk/Aids and are spayed or neutered before adoption. The Clayton County Humane Society educates the public regarding the importance of humane treatment of animals. A pet therapy program provides hands-on interaction treatment with local nursing homes.
