Henry County Park are the following 26: Alexander Park, Avalon Park, Big Spring Park, Bobby McBrayer Park, Clark Community Park, Cochran Park, Fairview Activity Center, Franklin Rape Park, Gardner Park, Henry County Soccer Complex, Heritage Park, Hidden Valley Park, J.P. Moseley Park, Mickie D. Cochran Park, Mt. Carmel Park, Nash Farm Battlefield, North Forty Park, North Ola Park, Panola Mountain Park, Pates Creek Nature Preserve Park, Red Hawk Nature Preserve Park, Richard Craig Park, Sandy Ridge Park, Simpson Street Park, Warren Holder Park, and Windy Hill Park.

A variety of fun activities and programs are offered by the Henry County Parks and Recreation Department to visitors and the residents of Henry County. This includes the Astronomy Club, Day Camp, Step Aerobic Classes, Line Dancing, Square Dancing, Karate, Baton, The Henry Players Drama Club, After School Academic Enrichment Program. Dog Obedience Classes, Yoga, and Step Aerobics.

The opportunity to participate in competitive sporting events as well as organized outings, socials and creative activities are provided to residents who have physical, mental, economic and/or behavioral Challenges through Therapeutic Recreation. Special Olympics provides a variety of Olympic-type sports and athletic competitions year-round for all mentally challenged school-aged children and adults, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community. Apart from these activities residents can also join one of the top-rated team-building events such as paintball at Windy Hill Park. Pet owners can benefit from the dog obedience program which covers basic novice exercises such as heeling on and off leash, stand for examination by a stranger, coming on command and sit and down stays.


Panola Mountain Park covers 633 acres of land and has 1 Self Guided Exercise Trail, 2 Self Guided Hiking Trails. A Nature Center, Picnic Pavilions, and a Playground Area. Hidden Valley Park is located in Ellenwood. The 115 acre park has 9 Lighted Baseball/Softball Fields, 3 Mile Paved Walking/Jogging Track; 2 Pavilions, 2 Tennis Courts, Amphitheatre, 2 Concession Stands, Gazebo, Handicap Accessible, Outside Basketball Court, 2 Playground Areas, Ropes Course, Senior Citizens Center, and Outdoor Skate Boarding Area. J.P. Moseley Park is 179 Acres offering 4 Lighted Softball Fields, 1.4 Mile Paved, Walking/Jogging Track, 1 Picnic Pavilion, 1 Practice Football/Soccer Field, Concession Stand, and a 18-Hole Disc Golf Course. J.P. Moseley Park Playground Area and Recreation Center includes 2 gyms, indoor walking track, community room, classrooms and cardio equipment.
